A CHANGE TO THIS NEWSLETTER

Since June 2017, I have published 344 intriguing (to me, at least) minor asides about my research into the history of nuclear power reactors. It’s now time for a change.

I am close to publishing the first volume of a history trilogy, Reactor: A Global History of Nuclear Power. The first volume will be called Visions: Volume I, 1942–1957, and it is the only comprehensive (but readable) history of the initial decade and a half in the unfolding of the world’s most controversial energy source.

If you are reading this, the topic of nuclear reactor history is of interest to you. To keep in touch with both my upcoming book and my additional writings and musings on the subject, I suggest you:

Regularly check in with my authorly website. Although at the moment information on the upcoming book is sparse (and I haven’t revealed the cover yet), the website does describe Visions, Volume I, 1942–1957. What might fascinate you are two tentative book covers on future volumes in Reactor: A Global History of Nuclear Power. I know it’s not usual to hypothecate unwritten future books, but I’m committed to writing them and hopefully you will come along on this next thrilling journey.

Subscribe to a fresh newsletter, Reactor History News, that will continue my pleasure in sharing aspects of the historical research and writing, but will also act as a conduit to dispensing news about the book and the trilogy. I think you will enjoy it.

What will happen to this website, Nuclear Power History? Well, that’s the most exciting prospect from this post. By July, Nuclear Power History will be a jam-packed hub for all news about Visions and the full trilogy. I plan to include extra resources that will add to your store of knowledge about nuclear energy. The site will also remain the archive of the 345 posts currently residing here.

Feel free to contact me on andres@andreskabel.com.. I am bursting with enthusiasm for this next phase of life.
